Honey Face Mask Recipes

Often referred to as "nature's perfect moisturizer," honey is a natural skin care ingredient that cleanses, moisturizes, and softens the skin.

You can use plain honey as a face mask by simply applying honey directly to the skin for 10-15 minutes, and removing it with warm water.

Oatmeal Honey Face Mask

This oatmeal and honey face mask has slight bleaching properties, and helps soothe itchy and irritated skin.

**If you don't have almond meal on hand, you can also use a blender or food processor to grind raw, unsalted almonds.

Ingredients

1 tsp raw warm honey

2-4 tsp warm skim milk

1 Tbsp ground almond meal

2 Tbsp oatmeal

**If you have acne prone skin, skip the honey!

Directions

Dissolve honey in skim milk.

Blend oatmeal in blender on high until a medium fine powder.

Add ground almond and oatmeal to milk mixture.

Mix until a thick, even paste is formed, adding more milks as needed.

Apply to clean skin, and let skit for 20-30 minutes.

Apple, Banana, and Honey Face Mask

This recipe doubles as an exfoliating treatment and is perfect for sensitive skin. Banana soothes, while the malic acid in the apple and honey help shed dead skin and rejuvenate your complexion.

Ingredients

1/2 cup honey

1/4 cup plain yogurt

1/2 cup raw oatmeal

1 egg white

1/2 banana

1/2 apple, cored

Directions

Place ingredients in blender or food processor

Blend until smooth.

Apply to clean skin and leave on for 15 to 20 minutes.

Rinse and remove mask with damp cloth.

Pat skin dry and apply a moisturizer.

Avocado and Honey Face Mask

Avocado is rich in natural oils and essential fatty acids, making it very nourishing and great for mature, wrinkled, and dry skin. For best results, use fresh, organic avocado.

Ingredients

1 ripe avocado

4 tsp warm milk

1 tsp honey

Directions

Wash avocado, cut in half, and remove pit.

Blend avocado in to a smooth puree.

Dissolve honey in warm milk, then mix in avocado.

Apply to face and leave for 20-30 minutes.

Rinse and pat dry.

Coconut Milk and Honey Face Mask

Renew your complexion with this hydrating and exfoliating face mask.

Ingredients

1/2 canned coconut milk

2 Tbsp honey

Directions

Microwave coconut milk for 30 seconds.

Stir in honey

Massage mixture into your skin.

Leave mask on for 10 minutes.

Rinse with warm water.

Grape, Blackberry, and Honey Face Mask

This is a great firming and exfoliating mask for all skin types. Grapes contain tartaric acid, an alpha hydroxy acid that helps firm skin. The seeds of the blackberries provide gentle exfoliation, while honey smoothes, firms, and rejuvenates the skin.

Ingredients

1/2 cup seedless red grapes

1/2 cup fresh blackberries

1/4 cup plain yogurt

1/2 cup honey

1/2 banana

1/4 cup soy powder (optional)

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor.

Blend until smooth.

Apply to clean skin and leave on for 15 to 20 minutes.

Rinse and remove mask with damp cloth.

Pat skin dry and apply a moisturizer.

Honey and Grapefruit Juice Face Mask

Fight flaky, dry skinwith honey and grapefruit juice.

Ingredients

Honey

Grapefruit juice

Directions

Massage a small amount of honey onto face.

Leave on face for 10 minutes.

Remove honey with a cotton ball soaked with grapefruit juice.

Leave the grapefruit juice on your face for 5 minutes before rinsing off with warm water.
